White Clouds

White Clouds

Wispy fingers reach

Towards a shining sun,

Angel dust decorates

A brilliant blue sky.

Smoky hearts

Or snakes

Race across the sky.

Thoughts get lost among the clouds

Imagination runs wild

Turning white clouds

Into fantastical creatures

Or buildings.

Lose yourself in the clouds

Find your inner child

Release into the joy.

It can be so wonderful to take time and just sit and watch the clouds. To let your imagination wander and pick out the images in the clouds. It is relaxing and brings me joy.

When is the last time you just watched the clouds?

Clouds

Clouds

As I drive down open roads

Clouds line up ahead of me.

Light fluffy white figures

Dancing out across a blue ocean of sky.

They go on forever,

Highlighted by the sun

Shining in all its glory.

I’m immediately whisked away

To warmer days

Of relaxation and bliss,

Of no responsibilities and endless adventures

Of climbing trees

And swinging among the leaves,

Splashing in the waves

Lounging on the sand.

Simple times of joy and innocence

Flood back in my mind

Brought about by a sky of endless clouds.

I’ll keep on driving

While the feeling seeps in

Through every pore

While joy pervades my very being

Lighting and filling me up

Until I float away just another cloud among many.

Oh, how often it is the little things that lift me up and out of the doldrums. We’ve been having pretty lovely spring weather the past few days. The light fluffy clouds floating around the sky have been such great therapy for me. There is just something so fun about clouds, they are so unattached and remind me how to be unattached in a light and easy way.

How do you feel about clouds?

Cartoon clouds

Cartoon Clouds

Cartoon clouds float above

Broccoli trees.

While dreams are born

Beneath hope filled skies.

We walk and talk

Search for the days

We didn’t care what others thought.

When we were carefree and fun.

Try to recreate the past

When all we have is now.

Forget yesterday,

I won’t worry about tomorrow.

I’ll live for this moment,

Finding sunshine in the darkness,

And smiling at all the fear

That is present in the world today.

With love, laughter, hugs and

A little bit of silliness,

We can transform all the pain,

The fear.

From doubt, we’ll find faith,

From fear, we’ll find courage,

From pain, we’ll find comfort,

From anger, we’ll find love.

It’s all in perception,

We’ll put on glasses

That add rainbows to everything.

Life will shimmer and sparkle

Always seem new and exciting.

Sometimes all I need to help me change my outlook is a few cartoon clouds. You know the ones I’m talking about, when you look at the sky and the clouds reach out and on forever and it seems like it can’t possibly be real and you just might be living in a cartoon world. I am brought back to childhood emotions of incredible hope, seeing the endless sky and letting my imagination wander. This poem is an exploration of that change of perception, change of outlook. What helps you change your outlook?
